Description
I have been winegrowing for the last 4 years and right from the beginning, we opted for an environmentally friendly method without risk to the health of our workers. We chose the Demeter organic and biodynamic winegrowing standard.
Four years later, we are nearly there and 2014 looks to be a good year. To mark the fifth harvest and our complete conversion to organic and biodynamic methods, I would like you to help us create our new premium wine.
This vintage represents the very essence of our terroir. Carefully selected plots, handpicked grapes, vinification in small vats, ageing in 500-litre barrels.
We aim to produce around 2,000 bottles that will be sold to the public at approximately 38 euros incl. VAT.
The egg-shaped fermentation vats will be used to produce our Les Cadets wine.
The estates Les Graves de Viaud is located in the heart of the Côtes de Bourg region where vineyards abound. Its landscape, unique in its biological diversity, is situated at the top of the plateau in Pugnac. The 15 ha estate extends along a hillside with southern exposure. It is composed of vineyards, meadows, woods, and a stream at the bottom of the hillside. The terrain is relatively homogenous; the composition is mainly small grit, with deep rocky soil on the top of the hillside. Over half of the 11.5 ha of vines planted on this beautiful landscape have been there for over 25 years.
